Our latest Qualified Opportunity Zone investment, Forth at Navigation, is a ground-up multifamily development project located near downtown Houston in the East End submarket. We firmly believe the East End neighborhood will follow in the footsteps of neighborhoods like Wicker Park in Chicago and Buckhead in Atlanta in becoming a magnet for young people, arts, and culture. We were looking at investment opportunities in this neighborhood well before the QOZ law was passed, but the QOZ program now provides a great tax incentive.
When complete in 2021, Forth at Navigation (earlier known as 2404 Navigation) will be an eight-story, Class A construction with 300 luxury apartment units and downtown Houston skyline views. It will benefit from multiple major developments happening in the area, a thriving restaurant and art scene, outward growth of the Houston central business district, and favorable population and job growth throughout the city and submarket. Young professionals have been flocking to similar developments throughout our markets, and we expect Forth at Navigation to perform similarly well.
