Contacts and Communications

Contacts are individuals associated with your account, and their communication preferences determine the emails they receive and the documents they can access. Contacts can be added during the subscription process or after it has been completed. This article explains how to view your account contacts, the steps to add a contact, and the types of communication they receive.

How do I view the contacts associated with my account?

You can view the contacts associated with your account by navigating to Settings > Investment accounts in the portal.

How do I add a contact associated with my account?

While completing your subscription, you can add contacts and designate the types of communication they receive under Communication preferences:

  1. Click +Add another contact to add contacts.
  2. Enter the following:
    • Name
    • Relationship to account
    • Email address
    • Phone number
    • Mailing address.
  3. Select the type of communication contacts should receive.
  4. Choose how you want them to receive communications and select either:
    • Address as primary
    • Address as CC’ed
  5. Click Save

Additionally, you can request adding a new contact by sending us a secure message in the portal:

  1. Click Settings.
  2. Click Investment Accounts.
  3. Click Contact Manager.
  4. Select Origin Investments as your manager.
  5. Enter the name, email address, and any preferences in the text section. For example, “Add John Smith, johnsmith@email.com, to my account for all tax-related communications.”
  6. Click Send.

What are the different types of communication a contact can receive?

Contacts can receive one or more of the following communications:

  • Capital call
  • Distribution
  • Offering materials
  • Miscellaneous
  • Newsletter
  • Quarterly report/audit
  • Tax

Why are there only some documents visible to me?

Communications are linked to associated documents. For example, if a contact does not have ‘Capital Call’ selected, they will neither receive emails about capital calls nor be able to view the associated capital call statements within the account’s Documents.
