We are excited to share that after careful consideration, we have decided to enter into a strategic transaction and partnership with Kovitz Investment Group and Focus Financial Partners. Kovitz is a partner firm of Focus and a leading wealth management firm. Origin Investments will become a subsidiary of Focus and part of the Kovitz group of companies. The transaction is expected to close on or about March 1, 2023.

Multifamily Credit Fund Final Close

 
 

The deadline to complete subscription documents to participate in Origin’s Multifamily Credit Fund is Jan. 31. The Fund is designed to deliver a low-risk stream of passive income for qualified purchasers by investing in multifamily mortgage bonds. Over the past year, we have positioned the Fund’s portfolio to benefit from inflation, with 70% of the Fund’s current portfolio comprising floating rate bonds that provide a hedge against interest rate increases. With a capital call set for February, investors who complete subscription documents by Jan. 31 will be able to put 100% of their committed capital to work right away.

Growth Fund IV Final Close
 

The final close date for Origin Growth Fund IV is March 31, 2023. The Fund comprises a portfolio of ground-up developments in high-growth markets across the southeast and southwest United States and is targeting a 14%-16% net IRR over an initial four-year hold. After that time, investors can redeem their interest or elect to remain in the Fund to generate a target net annualized total return of 8% to 11%.

2022 Transaction Activity Recap

 
 

2022 was another year of milestones at Origin Investments: We closed 31 direct equity and preferred equity deals totaling $2.2 billion in capitalization with $535 million of equity invested. While we are pivoting our strategy to align with the current state of the market and our own expectations for multifamily investment, the pipeline for preferred equity developments is strong as we continue to expand our presence in markets across the southeast and southwest United States.

New Development: Marlowe – Growth Fund IV

 

Las Vegas, NV

 

We are excited to announce our first investment in the Las Vegas market. The Marlowe South Las Vegas will be a ground-up development comprising 324 one-, two- and three-bedroom units in 10 residential buildings in the booming submarket of West Henderson. The site is approximately six miles south of Harry Reid International Airport and 10 miles south of the heart of The Strip. The convenient location will provide residents with excellent access to hundreds of thousands of jobs, as well as entertainment and shopping. Additionally, the site is located less than four miles from the headquarters and practice facilities of the Las Vegas Raiders and a planned entertainment district surrounding these facilities. Our project sponsor is repeat partner Greystar. This is Greystar’s third project in the Las Vegas metro area.
